Hey, i actually kinda want an update for the main and turbo mods, and thats the ability to have the music either play the mobile port's midi version, the original arcade one or even the 8-bit remix found on the bios screen on japanese Master Systems (which have exclusive fm instruments built in to those systems since the SMS's first model (Mark.III) could play fm instruments with a special adaptor). Could this kind of music-style feature be added?
This game good! 😁 also i think the virtual controls need extra improvements and that i can use 2 thumbs to play properly😞

In 1985, Space Harrier was released in the arcades. With its fun gameplay experience, revolutionary graphics and fantasy art-style, it became a smash hit ever since!
In 2011, Space Harrier got an Android port released only in Japan via a subscription service called "Puyo Puyo! Sega". This port features an innovative 3D display feature used for a few devices which can perform 3D stereoscopic display.
In 2026, the Android port of Space Harrier got new mods and is now part of the Sonic Mobirev library!
Space Harrier Mobirev is a collection of mods that fixes issues in the Android port of Space Harrier and make it playable on modern devices. There are multiple versions of the mods, but they all share the same fixes.
Here are the fixes that all the mods provide:
The game boots normally, instead of showing an error message.
Game resolution is matching device height, rather than overlapping on higher screen resolutions.
Exiting the game without closing or putting your device in sleep mode no longer soft-locks the game.
Touching the screen with 2 fingers no longer crashes the game.
SIDENOTE:
The 3D stereoscopic display doesn't work, but there is potential to make the option functional, even if most (if not all) devices can't display in 3D.
The Main Mods are fully-translated English versions with additional modifications.
There is one mod with the original Landscape view, and another with the new Portrait view. The Portrait view interface is designed to give you the illusion of having a small arcade cabinet in the palm of your hand!
Here are differences that this mod provides:
The loading screen has been replaced for better presentation.
The 3D display warning has been replaced by the mod version number, credits, and disclaimer about potential graphical glitches on certain modern devices.
Since the 1.1.0 update, the joystick in the Virtual controls has been revamped in order to be easier to control.
NEW! There are 3 different sizes of the virtual joystick (small, normal and big) and you can invert the y-axis of any control types.
NEW! You can change the game difficulty level. When set to NORMAL, the number of enemies is identical to the original game, whereas in EASY, the number of enemies is decreased by half.
The Turbo Mods are nearly identical to the Main Mods, but these mods make the game to run at 30FPS, instead of 20FPS, making the game running a little faster. However, the obstacles and enemy shots are moving at the same speed.
These mods are meant for those who are looking for an additional challenge!
The Legacy Mod is the original Android port of Space Harrier modified to be playable. The languages are both Japanese and English.
Since the game is no longer working, this mod is an alternative to the original Android port for preservation purposes. As the result, this mod will not receive any updates.
