Like your visual style. Today it also reminds me about Phantasy Star from Sega MEgaDrive, but your own way! With a Star Trek theme, so very very ineresting!

Story
Wendicka Lovejoy and Crystal McLeen join the space organisation M.E.T.E.O.R. hoping for a glorious carreer. Something every young boy and girl dreams of. The two girls who are sisters in all but blood and support each other during their training.
However, on their first real mission things go completely wrong, and Crystal had to become a cyborg to survive. Both girls give up their ambitions and decide to serve M.E.T.E.O.R. on a different way. Wendicka became engineer onboard the space station Excalibur, and Crystal became bartender on the same station.
All went well, until... an unknown group of mindless cyborgs intrude Excalibur. Accompanied by the android ExHuRU (Experimental Human Replica Unit) they have to flee Excalibur, with an unknown destination ahead.
Summary
Star Story is an RPG game which is partially based on existing science fiction series, but when you deem it a simple spin-off, you're not doing the game justice. It has its own very strong story line which does make it stand out on its own. These elements combined with some JRPG elements make Star Story a unique game.
A quick view on the cast:
Wendicka Lovejoy
The main protagonist of the story. Wendicka is a tomboy, with a very straightforward (sometimes even tactless) personality, but she always means well. She easily panicks when things are not going the way she planned.
Due to some reasons nobody knows, Wendicka cannot eat or drink and has to live on electricity in stead. This "curse" as she calls it, also allows her to control electricity (giving her some powerful lightning spells in battle).
Crystal McLeen
Surrogate sister to Wendicka. Crystal and Wendicka grew up together. Crystal is in all ways the calmness to Wendicka's wild and panicking nature. Crystal tries to keep her head cool in every situation (though when Wendicka panicks that's pretty hard even for her).
An unknown person turned Crystal into a cyborg after an incident that would otherwise have been fatal to her. Crystal hates her implants, but she knows she needs them to survive.
Experimental Human Replica Unit (ExHuRU)
This android was programmed by admiral John Lovejoy to protect his daughter (by adoption) Wendicka. He lacks all sorts of emotion nor is he able to comprehend human irrational thinking. Wendicka hates being protected and she tries everything to get rid of him. Too bad for her, her father blocked out all possibilities for to reprogram him.
Yirl
A Klargin bounty hunter, who makes a living by seeking jobs that give him good money, or by winning people's money and is therefore popular at neither the Interplanetairy Federation and the people he played against. Wendicka suspects he knows stuff. Stuff which might be very important to her.
Foxy Firefox
A female Vulpin who makes a living through thievery. She likes to dress and behave suggestively. Her skills can be a real asset to the group. Foxy is constantly accompanied by a little dragon called Reggie, which was made in a laboratory. Foxy always has quite a bad time dealing with Reggies rude and immature behavior.
Xenobi
Xenobi is a Ji knight, who focusses on a supernatural phenomenon called "The Power". He has a very calm and disciplined nature. He appears to have feelings for Crystal.
Other characters
Admiral John Lovejoy
Wendicka's father by adoption. An honorable man who is quite devoted to his job and to his daughter. He has a strong sense of duty. He's also quite a religious man, and since Wendicka isn't she thinks this is the reason the two have many arguments. Maybe the true reason is because the admiral wants to protect his daughter while she doesn't want to be protected.
Admiral Johnson
Supreme commander on Excalibur and known as an "iron lady". This woman is late in her 70s, but don't fool around with her. She's very strict, but also just. She does have a softer side that she tries to hide, but which can be seen by those with a keen eye for that.
Doctor Sal'pr'drita
Chief of the medical staff on Excalibur. Dr. Sal'pr'drita may not be human himself, but nobody does know more about the human body than he does.
Reggie
Reggie is a "dragon" born in a laboratory when some mad scientists were trying to play God. The experiment was successful in the sense that they did manage to create a small dragon who is even able to breathe and manipulate fire. Unfortunately they neglected to raise him, and thus he grew up without any sense of manners. As a result Reggie is pretty foul-mouthed, his comments are pretty offensive, and thus Foxy kicks him around a lot for every remark of his that goes too far. It's not quite known who Reggie and Foxy met, as both of them are pretty secretive about that subject.
Rolf van den Broek
Rolf is a civilian of the human colony Nizozemska. He's pretty much of a no-nonsense kind of guy and a hard worker. He's a pretty strong fellow too.
Sue McLeod
Rolf's girlfriend, and a very overexcited blabbermouth. She's also the kind of girl who cannot keep up her anger very long, meaning she can scold you one moment and only 3 minutes later she may also be baking an apple pie for you. In short, she's everything her boy-friend is not. But there's more to her than just that.
Features
Nice #TurnBased combat in a timed setting. Unlike ATB, the game freezes movement until you entered a move. If you wonder how this works, take a look at The Secrets of Dyrt.
A nice science fiction setting with a lot of star travel. Are you boldy going were no man has gone before?
Each character has his or her unique weapon (except for the prologue part) and you can upgrade them.
Three difficulty settings. So if you never played an RPG game before, this game allows you to learn. When you are an experienced, yet casual player you'll love this game. And when you have no life, and think all other RPG games are too easy you may find a challenge in this one. Everybody happy ;)
(Mac Only) The "Quit Save Game" feature. If you really need to quit the game, but there's no savespot around, you can use this feature to have a temporary savegame. This savegame will however be removed as soon as you load it. It's only for emergency situations. (Savegames made at a savespot will always be kept).
(Mac Only) An emergency savegame (which deletes itself upon loading) in case of a system crash or a failure in your power network.
The only limit to your number of savegames depends on your own hardware. As long as your harddrive can contain the data inside the savegame files, and as long as your RAM can keep up with the savegame list, there is no limit to the number of savegames.
A story line of many mysteries. Can you unfold them all?
Your ship, The Hawk will take you to any planet you like, and as soon as you arrive you can beam down to the surface.
This game will be available for Mac and Windows.
The scenario is available in both English and Dutch. The system has an easily set up scenario system, making translations to other languages quite easy (as long as they use the roman alphabet).
The Game can fully switch between full screen and windowed mode. Which do you prefer?
Many trophies to go for. Can you collect them all?
(Mac Only): Alternatively you can also download the game with #HomeBrew:
brew cask install phantasarproductions/casks/starstory
. If you are not familiar with the terminal I recommend to just download the game from the site or by using the GJ client. The game does have a dedicated Discord Channel
Field Controls
Click an area somewhere in the field and the character will walk to it. Don't worry about obstacles in the way, as the game uses an advanced pathfinder routine able to calculate a route around it.
When you find a treasure in a dungeon, just walk to it and the character who is in the lead will automatically pick it up as long as there is room for it in his or her inventory.
Left clicking a portrait will open the field menu. You can click other characters in the field menu to see their statistics and stuff. Left clicking on the person whose menu is open will return you to the field.
Right clicking a portrait will change the leader (does not work in the Yaqirpa. Everywhere else this works).
Menu Controls (field)
Left click a portrait to switch character to view, or click the active character to return to the field
Left clicking an item will pick it up to put it somewhere else, right clicking an item will make its owner use it.
Icon strip on top of the screen will make you view inventory, abilities and so on.
Combat Controls
In combat goes, left click = confirm, right click = cancel, this goes for nearly all combat actions.
The basic combat menu points to the character whose turn it is. Just click the item you want.
Click the target you want to attack or to want to use an item on. For offensive moves you can only click the enemy, for healing or assisting moves you can only click your allies.

System requirements / recommendations
OS Specific requirements / recommendations
Windows users need at least Windows Vista to run, but Windows 7 or Windows 10 are recommended. (I will NOT give technical support for Windows 8, or any Windows version prior to Vista!!!)
Windows users will require DirectSound to have audio. Graphics are done by OpenGL
Mac users will require at least OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to run the game, OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or later is strongly recommended (the game was developped and tested on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)).
Requirements / recommendations for all systems:
1.65 GHz CPU is minimally required, though 2.5 GHz is recommended
2 GB RAM or more recommended
OpenGL v1.1 or later required
For full screen mode your system needs to be able to either support or be able to "emulate" a 800x600 screen mode. "Windowed" mode is always supported (if your screen supports any screen mode bigger than this, and the game is configured to automatically assume windowed mode if your system does not support this full screen)
