A long time ago, there were two races: monsters and humans. They roamed the land and built homes in various places, until they established a settlement—built on lies and a false sense of security—at the base of a mountain. Conflict arose, and a war began; the humans won. Seven wise mages created a barrier, but something was terribly wrong. The place where the monsters were sealed away—bound by that powerful magic—caused their physical forms to become distorted. They lived like that for many years, until you wandered into the clearing, searching for the entrance to that place.
