A interesting remake of asteroids with some fresh mechanics to keep it interesting, though in the end it is an asteroids remake of which there are many.
Boss fights and the other many things you plan to add certainly will make it more interesting, I'll check it out then.
Controls:
Move: WAD or Arrows
Bullet Bomb: Shift
Overcharge: S or CTRL
A PC remake of the classic Asteroids game, with many added features, including:
particle effects
power ups
unlockable abilities
scores and score multipliers
original music
I plan to later include:

store to purchase upgrades for your ship.
and many other features
Development is scheduled to end somewhere in June - July, 2014 (after classes end). I will of course upload the new version once it's finished.
