The Deceiving Villager

The player, a lone explorer, stumbles upon a seemingly abandoned Minecraft village. One villager remains, acting oddly friendly, offering incredible trades for rare items – diamonds for a single piece of cobblestone, emeralds for dirt. Suspicious but tempted, the player accepts.

As the trades continue, the villager’s eyes seem to glow faintly in the shadows, and its trades become increasingly unsettling: "your pickaxe for your soul," "your armor for your sanity." The player dismisses it as a glitch, until they notice that every time they complete a trade, they feel a subtle drain on their own in-game health or hunger bar, even their experience points.

Night falls, and the village transforms. The other houses, previously empty, now show flickering lights and hushed whispers. The friendly villager’s hums turn into low, guttural chanting. The player tries to leave, but invisible walls now block the exits. The remaining villagers, previously docile, now shuffle slowly towards the player, their vacant stares fixed, their trades now demanding the player's very essence.
