What do you think?

I gave it a go, ventured into the forest and killed some zombie pigs. Lost all my hearts but at least I didn't die. :D Hope you enjoy the further development. I also like the nostalgic graphics, but would have hoped for more setting consistency with the sound choices, to create some atmosphere. The dialogue sounds very "technical"/futuristic.

It's a pity because I liked its looks, but killing four pigs doesn't feel much like an adventure keep up the good work

Didn't seem to be anything to it so far, but an interesting start. The camera movement is certainly designed to induce motion sickness :-)

Pity that you didn't get to add much any real content. I'm digging the blocky aesthetic. For when you continue making the game, I'd recommend looking into capturing the mouse cursor in the window. I have multiple monitors, and just turning around made my mouse leave the screen the game was running on, and that would cause me to click out of the game.

Game made for #advjam2021 but is being heavily worked on as we improve it. Make sure to follow so you're notified of updates!

For now the game stretches to the first boss fight but may seem a little dull. Make sure to leave feedback! We're working on it!

Delve into the swamp, up a mountain, and through caves facing terrifying cryptids along the way.

This game is still very much a work in progress and is purely a demo of a concept.

We're stopping development on The Climb/Blood of Appalachia. Due to it originating from a jam we found the idea and concept to be difficult to work with and a bit uninspiring. We will be starting a new project from scratch.

Stay tuned for updates.

H-How did he do that?

Nothing can touch Joshua now!

For any of you following or interested in The Climb, we've finally been able to release an update and we strongly suggest you check it out! It even (finally) features a boss. Only the windows version contains these updates for now though.
