The Poppytales

This is the page for the upcoming game The Poppytales. The old page is being left up, but the ideas behind the game have changed.

The idea of making it a crossover game with characters from several games I've made is still there, but I think it would be much more achievable to move away from the RPG genre.

The game that's in the process of being made is going to be like Easter Fun 2; a platformer game with lots of bosses. However, not every planned character will be added to the game at once.

You see, my plan at the moment is to give the game continual updates with more content as time goes on. I was also thinking of this game as a way to escape the game development trap I've been stuck in for the last three years. Basically, when I release an old project, content and characters from that game will be added to this game.

This means games that have been in the works or on hiatus for ages, such as Poppytail 5, The Poppytales, AGATH:FV and One Million will be coming soon.

Now, this game is still planned to have plenty of characters, but to make sure that something gets released quicker, the initial character roster that will be able to be obtained will be limited. I've created a roster of just over 100 characters from my released games which will be available to unlock when the game releases.

Now, most of the updates and ideas for the old versions of The Poppytales were mostly comprised of wishful thinking. It turns out that it's easier to make something that you know how to do. Surprisingly enough, I got stuck in an ambitious trap trying to make something like this.

But don't worry, work has already started on this project. In fact, there is even a little test video that has been uploaded to YouTube already. Check out the devlog to see the video. Although it's not much, by trying to keep uploading to YouTube it should help motivate me to make more and more.

I hope that this doesn't come as a disappointment to anyone who wanted to see The Poppytales as an RPG. But don't worry. This way it's much more likely that something will eventually be released. This will probably take a while and I thank you all for your patience.
