You work as an engineer in the massive "Thomas Retro City" complex, which simulates a 1980s city, featuring classic arcade games like Pac-Man, Duck-Hunt, and more, all in realistic sizes.

But it turns out this is all a disguise, and underneath it lies a massive survival testing ground where ordinary mortals are forced to play arcade survival games. And beneath the complex lies a laboratory researching bioweapons, a substance known as "the substance," which can change its shape and form into anything. You'll encounter it.
