What do you think?

I like how this is turning out so far, the graphics look really nice (It's definitely worth the 20 USD from what i saw, really loved it), and the controls felt nice to control as well!

10/10; Excited to see what this will end up being

Tomato Man Toy Project

A simple platformer. You can run, jump and wall jump around, in a level with some blocks and pickups.

Controls:

  • Arrow keys or A/D keys move left and right

  • W key or space jumps

  • Escape key exits the game (the web version does not handle this correctly, though)

Uses wonderful art by Phil Giarrusso (https://rephil.itch.io/green-greens-forest-pixel-art-platformer-asset-pack).

The idea behind this was to create a tutorial-sized game without the aid of a tutorial using a pre-made art pack (I am about as far from an artist as you can get). This will help further my learning journey with this engine.

This is not intended to be much of a 'real game', and will never be sold. More like a prototype/demo sort of thing, but you're still welcome to try it out.

0.0.1-alpha.4: A game loop!

- You can now restart the level after reaching the flag

- The coins collected are tracked and shown at the end

- Quite a bit of refactoring under the hood

Now the game won't just sit there when you're done

- Tomato Man now has items to collect!

- Added coins, health and 1-ups to the mix

Still purely prototype-level stuff, but now there's something to do

- Added ability to latch onto walls and slide down

- Added ability to jump while wall sliding

Giving Tomato Man a bit more agility to move around levels. Should make things a little more interesting.
