WARNING:
The current development build contains placeholder assets that were used solely for prototyping and internal testing. These assets are not licensed for redistribution and will be replaced with original content before any public release.
For that reason, this build will not be distributed or updated publicly until all placeholder assets have been recreated or properly licensed.
More information about this decision can be found in the FAQ section below.
I take full responsibility for this situation, which is why I've chosen not to release the project until it can be shared in a completely legitimate state.
ABOUT:
Geki-Kyoso: Touge is a single-player racing RPG where you climb the ranks of Japan's underground street racing scene, earn reputation, uncover your father's legacy, and struggle to repay a debt owed to a well-known organization.
NOTICE:
Geki-Kyoso: Touge is still a work in progress and has been in active development for over 1.5 years. New features are added regularly, while existing systems continue to be refined and improved.
Please note that this build contains only a small portion of the planned content. Story progression, many gameplay systems, and a large part of the vehicle roster are still under development.
For now, think of this release as a sandbox gameplay demo. You're free to drive the currently available cars, experience the physics model, and explore the game's core mechanics.
If you encounter bugs or have suggestions, feel free to leave them in the Shouts section. Every report and useful idea helps improve the project and will be taken into consideration.
This demo will remain completely free during development. Once the full game reaches version 1.0, the distribution model will change to "Name Your Price", allowing players to support the project while still deciding how much they'd like to pay.

FaQ:
Q: How many people are working on this project?
A: Primarily just me. Some vehicle models have been tweaked with help from AifonVHS.
Q: How far along are the game's story and lore?
A: The main plot and lore are fully written and ready to be implemented. The remaining work consists of creating additional characters, locations, interactions, and missions.
Please remember that the current build is still a work in progress and does not contain any story content yet.
Q: Where did the car models come from?
A: The current prototype uses vehicle models found on Sketchfab. They are temporary placeholders and will be replaced with my own original models as development progresses.
A full list of the original creators can be found in Credits.txt inside the game folder.
Q: Does the game contain copyrighted assets, music, or artwork?
A: The current prototype contains several Creative Commons-licensed vehicle models as well as a free city asset distributed under its respective license.
The finished game will not contain third-party copyrighted assets.
All music featured in the project is composed by me.
Q: Is this just an asset flip or a mod of another game?
A: No.
Geki-Kyoso: Touge is an original racing RPG built from the ground up. None of the assets were ripped from commercial games.
Some placeholder assets are currently used for prototyping and have been modified to support gameplay systems, but they are scheduled to be replaced before release.
One exception is VHS Pro, which was used without purchasing a license. I take full responsibility for that mistake.
The asset will be completely removed and replaced with my own implementation. My goal is to eventually release my replacement as a free asset as a way of apologizing and giving something back to the community.
Q: Have you used AI during development?
A: Yes - but only to a limited extent.
Early in development, when I had very little programming experience, I used AI to help generate parts of some scripts. As my knowledge improved, many of those systems were rewritten by hand.
Some AI-generated code still exists in the project, although much of it is unused legacy code from the earliest stages of development.
The finished game will not contain AI-generated artwork, music, voice acting, or other creative assets.
Q: Is there any way to support the project during development?
A: Not at the moment.
I don't feel comfortable accepting financial support while the project still contains placeholder assets created by other people.
If and when the project reaches a point where all major assets are original, I'll reconsider opening donations or other forms of support.
Q: Can I contribute to development?
A: At the moment, no.
I appreciate the offer, but this project is currently a personal undertaking.
