VRath of Horus is a local versus virtual reality game, in which two players fight against each other. One player plays with the HTC Vive, the other on the PC screen with mouse and keyboard.
The setting is in modern Egypt. The player who plays with the mouse and keyboard takes on the role of a treasure hunter, who has found the golden scepter of the god Horus in an old labyrinth hidden in the desert and must bring it out safely within the time limit. The god Horus is thereby incensed and tries to prevent the treasure hunter from leaving the labyrinth.
The VR player now takes on the role of Horus and has several options available to prevent his opponent from leaving the labyrinth. He can turn walls and place various traps, but must always trigger them even at the right moment, when the treasure hunter passes this.
There are deadly traps, such as Spear traps, as well as traps, which only make it harder for the treasure hunter to reach the target, such as the teleporter. Also, the treasure hunter has some abilities to affect the pharaoh, which he must first find in the labyrinth. So he can often reveal all traps before him, make himself invisible for a short time or distract the VR player by means of a fright effect and prevent him from activating a trap.
This results in a tactical approach for the VR player, as he can not place traps indefinitely and must act strategically from the outset. The treasure hunter must be considered and careful, but is always under time pressure. This results in an exciting competition for victory for both players.
The Game is developed as a final study project within a team of five Students who study different courses. (Game Programming, Game Art, Audio Producion)
