1 Year Anniversary!!!! + Update V0.4.0


Welp, we have done it, we have made it a full year since release and I am still making updates. Its cool to see how far I have come since when I first started. To commemorate this moment I give you V0.4.0 of my game. This next version adds a ton of art, some more village stuff, and actual village, and sound effects.

ChangeLog

  • Fixed the bug that made it so enemies wouldn’t be able to attack you after you died and the game restarted.

  • Added sound effects, including a talking sound, a hit sound, a laser shoot sound, and a battle start sound.

  • Added some villager house art, and added a villager you can talk to to start the battle.

  • Added the ability to inspect some items and talk to things.

  • Added side and backward art for all the enemies that exist right now.

  • Made it so that moving changes your rotation.

  • Made it so you can hold down the move button to move instead of you having to press it down every time.

  • Added foundation for clicking to be able to move the player entities.

  • Made it possible to have multiple paged inventories.

  • Added fade in animations and fade out animations when a battle starts and ends.

  • Whenever a hit happens to the player the camera shakes and everything turns red.

Technical Things (skip to the bottom if you don’t like long descriptions)

  • Made a ton of the custom inspector scripts better.

  • The Villager you see has randomly generated colors and saves those colors so every time it is the same villager.

  • Added foundation for saving and loading things in-game.

  • Fixed the pivot of the royal sword so that Enu Knight looks like he is actually holding it.

  • Made it so all camera movement and sprite stuff is done while the camera is faded out so that any bugs or out of sync animations aren’t seen as easily.

  • When the camera shakes and everything turns red when a player gets hit in a battle, the enemy’s GUI does not turn red (because they didn’t get hit).

  • When the player moves around in the village scene the collision detection for the interaction events changes sides to where the player is facing.

  • When you run into a collider in the village scene the player is stopped and cannot move any closer to the collider, this is because of a script that I have that stops him.

Welp that’s about it, this was a long update, it took quite a lot of work to get finished but I hope you will like it.
