This week I’ve been figuring out how I’m gonna make the phase II work and I realised that. First of, this game’s consept is what I think would be the best game ever to play and Second of, I found that modding is very key feature of the first point. So I’m gonna add mod support to the game right of the cut but most importantly the game is supposed to be all about random world generation meaning I need a lot of different bits to randomize and thus need a lot of permutations. To make that happen I need a lot of content. Plus, for a weird reason it feels good to have content that you as a user created be added to the game wich makes it so I want more content in the game and you want your content in the game so after “launch” the game will come with a forum system(on a website) dedicated to mod that can be ranked so every week I can add all the best mods (with some tweaking) to the game. Mod making tools will probably coma along with all of that to make adding content easier. As a second point, I’ve been wondering how I’ll go about doing the graphics of the game and I found a solution. The solution is 3D models displayed on a 2D plane. By that I mean that most things the game will be 3D objects with textures and stuff but they will all be displayed with the same z rotation making it easier to add very high-level animations. For example i can have stuff on a table like a cup and when a strike comes near it it throws but the the cup has normal colision and can rotate but it is all displayed in such pixel art fashion that it looks as if a real artist made every single frame of the animation when I just created a model.
