Why are NFTs Bad?
That article claims that 77 kilotons of electronic waste is produced annually in bitcoin mining. Bitcoin. The currency used to buy NFTs.
not only that, NFTs are usually involved in money laundering, fraud and scams, and Bitcoin themselves are used on the Black Market to buy illegal substances. I’ve checked it out myself. It’s horrible.
The Evidence
first of all, i pointed out that Highrise is labeled 17+ on the app store due to the following reasons
and yet gamejolt, a site with many minors, is essentially promoting them via collaboration. not only that, but highrise is a metaverse and has an nft shop. speaking of NFTs, here’s the co-founder and CEO’s responses to allegations of them having NFTs
this one was pinned on the post @/gamejolt made of them collabing with highrise.
and this comment was made on @balmut ’s post about said pinned comment. Anton is clearly lying about not having NFTs, so he addresses it in the second comment. However, this still doesn’t push aside the fact it still exists. and they still promote it.

now, this screenshot is of Highrise’s FAQ.
this shows that they falsely claim that their NFTs have real world value. Sure, value in ruining the environment.

those three screenshots consisted of inappropriate clothing items, the final one containing proof of a p#rn group chat on the website. You could probably lie about your age easily and access the NSFW chat. And Gamejolt is COLLABING with this guys!
there go the mods being wild again. and lorac ghosted a reply asking for gamejolt to stop the collab. not even a no.
the two websites claim different rewards for winning the game jam. it was confirmed to be US dollar, but the times on the sites don’t even line up.
gamejolt put a link to a channel that would supposedly have ‘all the deets’.
the channel was wiped from history, as well as the post with the more deets itself
i looked on their facebook out of curiosity, and this is one of the many suggestive ass things they had posted to advertise their game. not even the worst. yet certainly not for kids.
The Backlash
Christoff was one of the first people to point it out. And the users protesting have had dire consequences, especially Christoff and Splat. One of the gamejolt mods , @/thoro, was actively blaming Christoff for ‘starting drama’ and even insulted him in the below comment
the above screenshot accuses christoff of accusing them (gamejolt) of using NFTs, yet christoff has never said such a thing. And thoro, despite being a (functioning?) adult, did not understand the fact that the whole #NFTJolt thing was a joke.
thoro tries pushing someone to do it, but not sure if this is important.
thoro claims that other social medias ‘actively push for NFTs’
and @SplatCat made a post recently of how her and others, especially those who speak out against the unjust things, get shadow banned. the post has proof. note how on Christoff’s display, it says no comments, despite splat having already commented.
This is the future of gamejolt. They’re letting the mask slip. Those who speak up against them, shadowbanned, and maybe even banned in the future. Censorship at its finest.
