Firstly: This is a FREE and FANMADE game which is NOT endorsed by Dashie.
So. I started working on this horror game over the summer, a bit towards the end of it.
A lot has been done, but still so much more needs to be done in terms of visuals.
My biggest challenge is the tile set.
That being said, I don’t know when this game will truly come out. Right now I’m doing most of the work, but do have a friend helping with pictures. She drew one of my favorites and it’s my hopes she’ll draw more of the jump scares for me.
Making graphics for RPG Maker 2003 isn’t hard, but I’m caught up with other stuff on the side, and soon heading back to college. Maybe I’ll find some tile set artists willing to work for free along the way. If it gets down to it and I feel too burdened with everything… I might have to actually hire someone. Yuck.
There are a few secrets and jokes in this game. Certain names (with no spaces) even unlock specific audio sounds instead of default sounds. They also help if you missed something totally obvious. The wrong name, however, may result in a jump-scare and Game Over. There are hidden save spots, literally you walk right over it without knowing. The puzzle I currently have set up is fairly simple as it’s introducing you to the mechanics I’ll be using. Yes, there is a little chase scene. I couldn’t help myself.
Most of the music was made using Music Maker Jam with a lot of loops and experimenting. It’s all subject to change, as well. Lyrics are 100% my own. A majority of vocal sound effects come from me, with a small sample from one of Dashie’s videos, and a scream recorded from my partner.
I even made the footstep sound effect by clapping and changing the sounds.
I still haven’t managed to get any response from Dashie, but there’s no rush there, given how much I have to do. If Dashie requests (or demands) that this be taken down, the original idea I had with the same title will be used instead, and the game will focus more heavily on horror (and logic) than on Horror-Comedy. Really more like horror-sass.
SO!! Keep in mind: at the moment, technically one person is working on this game full time. Have patience. I did a lot before posting about it.
