So yeah, the project is kinda stalling. It's stalling because of a lack of people.
What ends up happening is that some folks volunteer to help with the project, they take on tasks that were originally mine, don’t do them for a long time, and I end up in a position where I have to pick those tasks back up again ones I already tried to move away from and mentally, I just don’t want to.
So, basically, I’ll work on it when I feel like it. And “Neighbor - 0%” will probably be made later.
Mainly because the audience overall didn’t like what my character modeler came up with in terms of the mesh.
So yeah, the project is either going to be stuck in development hell forever, or just get cancelled.
That would make it cancelled project number 55. Just 5 more and we’ll hit the anniversary milestone :P
Though honestly, that's kinda where my skills come from there’ve been a lot of these projects.
I do want to finish this one, but like… bruh.
I even commissioned music for the game, lol. It's done. But dropping another $550+ for character models (fully game-ready with rigging) is just not something I can afford right now.
And I’d need at least 4 of them for the project to even make it to an Alpha 2 remake stage.
If anyone comes at me negatively about the project being cancelled like trolling or throwing shade I will get toxic and put them in their place.
Because like… take a look at yourselves. What do you have finished? What have you developed?
Could you even remotely pull off half the stuff I do?
Honestly, it’s probably better to just make games solo.
Or maybe find a loyal slave who’s psychologically tied to me, so I could pressure them, and they’d… I don’t know… not just give me their time, but also money. Someone who puts my well-being above their own...
Hmm… I do know a couple people like that, but they’re not really aligned with my interests... XD
(THAT’S A JOKE. A DARK ONE, BUT STILL A JOKE.
Though the part about knowing a couple people like that? Not a joke. I hope they’re doing well now and managed to move on from that.)
BTW, I’m actually really sad about all this.
I could have shaken up the HN community by creating a project that was strong in many aspects and truly unique.
But it is what it is.
And what we have now is the realization that this kind of thing doesn’t just require my time it also needs the motivation and honesty of others.
Not just empty promises.
I get it though. I’ve done the same, and honestly, I probably will again because it’s not something you can always control.

So there's a problem with neighbor eye color Some people like blue, some like green. Green is just canon. I want blue.
I found a solution to this problem - use both. but in different contexts.
blue eyes - reality
green eyes - not reality.
