Been awhile since I did a Proper Dev Log for Aftermath, wanted to go over everything with Act 1R, and some other related things.
Let's start off with...
ACT 1R PROGRESS
Added in a Extra Level, its just an explorable section, But there's ~5 Paragraphs of miss-able dialogue.
The Main Menu is basically done, I did re-use the UI from Act 3 just because of how advanced it is. Just gotta do some extra animation work!
I'm also working in the Last Level right now, Heavily inspired by Sister Location, a little similar to an early game Act 2 Level too...
ACT 1R OVERVIEW
Length: 20 - 30 Minutes
Endings: 2 (only 1 'canon' ending)
Levels: 7, 2 of which are Dialogue Heavy, Exploration only. (For Reference, the OG Act 1 had 6 Levels, 3 of which were Exploration only. These do not include cutscene only sections, like the ending cinematics)
Overall, I think Act 1R has better Pacing, Better gameplay, Better visuals, and probably the best dialogue & animation out of the 3. (Besides walk cycles..im horrible at those lol)
OTHER AFTERMATH STUFF
You may have seen the "Uncovered" youtube channel i posted awhile ago, made to show some of the story that players were confused by as Videos recorded by an in-game character,
I've decided to cancel this project, because those are being implemented into Act 1R!
I believe this Act has more Dialogue than 2 (which is like 10x longer lol) so that helps to explain the story as well. I revamped the dialogue system, so its a lot easier to implement than before, especially compared to the OG Act 1 which literally played Videos as its dialogue system lol
I think that's all for now. Act 1R is right around the corner.. I'll post the release date when I'm 100% finished with it.
Act 3 is in its final stretch too, so i feel both will come out this month.
