Alpha release 3 is out!

After a long break from this game, I finally got back on track and put together the third alpha release.

Most importantly this does introduce GameJolt trophies. I do hope this works properly, feedback is greatly appreciated as always. There’s also a nifty training mode now, allowing you to retry any stage you previously reached.

Here’s the changelog:

  • changed some sprites slightly

  • changed some stages (some just slightly)

  • added a few trophies for you to grab

  • added a training mode where you can retry stages you’ve reached

  • added a (partly functional) main menu

  • added a few sound effects

  • added titles at the beginning of each stage

  • added the ability to pause the game

  • added the ability to quit the session at any point

  • added a controls screen

  • added one new level

  • fixed an issue where an enemy wouldn’t shoot

  • fixed repeatable winning animation

  • fixed an issue where the bomb could still be set off after being defused

  • fixed being unable to progress beyond level 10

Summer and other circumstances slowed things down quite a bit, but I'm trying to give the old pen & paper its due and plan some additional stuff more properly.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
