Hello!
As expected, I was unable to get the game done by January.
Due to time constraints, the development has become significantly slower. The majority of the game is complete, but there’s still a bit of work to do. Here’s what’s left exactly:
Endings (1/5 Complete)
The endings are more than just cutscenes, which is why some might take a bit more time to do.Achievements
Only a few achievements have been implemented into the game, and there’s a couple of issues that need to be fixed.Animations
There are still some jumpscare animations left to do, and due to a lack of a true, dedicated animator, the progress is slow.Collectibles
The collectibles mainly consist of audio tapes, which of course need voice acting work. I am yet to find voice actors for the few remaining tapes.Rewards
Rewards for completing the game, currently not implemented at all.Leaderboard system
Currently, I’m still trying to figure out how a leaderboard system could work.Final touch-ups
Once all of the above is fully complete, I’ll be finishing up and improving everything.
You also have to consider that, unlike some of my previous projects, The Fredbear Archives doesn’t have it’s own development team. I’m the only person actively working on the game, occasionally requesting help from other people.
This makes the development rather inconsistent, since there’s no progress if I’m inactive. That being said, I can work fast when I do have free time. It’s just that I can’t work on certain aspects of the game that I can’t do myself, such as voice acting.
Thanks for understanding,
~Rarithlynx
Edit:
Please do not offer voice acting work down below in the comments, I search for voice actors manually.
