Art's Devlog 7/6/2018

Hello Ladies and Gents! Boys and girls. My name is Artskullz, but you can call me Art. I am the Lead Artist for Wenches and Loot. I would like to first throw blame for my participation in this project on Dredex. The guy recommended me to Jackripperz when they needed some artwork. Dredex and I have actually worked together in the past on a multiplayer gaming project, and I have apparently made a good impression. During that time, I was also a lead for that group and I often worked with him. Guess he didn’t get tired of me ordering him around (Poor Guy). All jokes aside, I was greatly honored to have been spoken about so highly, and I dug the direction of the project early on. A humorous RPG that makes fun of RPG’s? Wenches? Loot? COUNT ME IN!

I have been working in the design industry for about 8 years, and I had started my career early in Highschool. I was creating logo’s and graphics for students and teachers alike. I am no stranger to the importance of design and artwork in our daily lives, and as an artist I pride myself in creating high quality work at a faster pace than most. I was not as obsessed with video games as many of my co-workers, but I was an avid Super Mario Bros player. I am a fan of the SNES and Atari Games I used to play as a kid, and I try to make games that are easy to pick up and start playing. I started off wanting to be an animator, so I never thought in a million years that I would be involved in the gaming industry. But here I am!

What is it that I do though? As the lead artist I work closely with Dredex and Jackripperz to make their vision of this game REAL. I make it cohesive and visually appealing, while they and the rest of the team breathe the life into it. I am quite proud already of the unique style and colors that I have brought to this game. I feel though it has its own unique mixture of serious details while keeping a whimsical feeling. I think this fit perfectly with the rockin’ soundtrack and the comedic writing in the game itself.

One of the amazing parts about working with this team is the sheer passion and dedication they have to this project. They really love what they do, and it shows through when you play the game. Through the many indie companies that I have been involved with, the level of professionalism and work ethic in this company, is no laughing matter. They have truly impressed me with the quality and the hard work they have put into this project. You can feel the air electrified when you work with these guys, and I have felt energized and even more excited about my part in this game because of their passion. It is very rare, and near impossible to find a team that is this strong on all fronts. I am extremely proud to be a part of it, and I look forward to what they do in the future.

Now, if you will excuse me, I need to polish my weapons before I head out to get me some Wenches and Loot.
