Hi hi!
We're here again to delight you with new info and a new demo of Bigger Than Me. A few months ago we launched our Steam Page, and we've been working in the Vertical Slice of the game since then.
The Vertical Slice is a little demo where all the mechanics and systems are almost fully implemented, so we can start adding all the final content of the game, creating the puzzles, the cutscenes, etc. Our Vertical Slice is 70~% complete, but we wanted to show you some of the new look of the game before finishing it. So here we are!
The new demo of the game includes a big rework in the insides & the look of the game. We are listing some of the new features here:
- New animation system. It includes expressions for the characters, different faces, moving the mouth when talking, etc. Also some new internal tools for creating animations faster and easier.
- Rework of the UI. The UI has been completely redone to better fit the style of the game. For example, now there are different cursor images for different interactions (inspect, enter, talk...).
- New inventory system. The inventory has been improved, so it is now possible to use the objects you carry with you to interact with the world, among other things.
- Added new locations. There are two new locations in Max's house you can access. A little new puzzle has been added too, but we won't spoil it! :P
- Inclusion of Nanogames. Nanogames are super-simple mini-games you will find during Max's adventure. One of them is included in this new demo so you can get the idea.
- Lots of new details and little fixes. We have been reviewing translations, improving interaction with different parts of the game, fixing bugs, and a big etcetera. It feels like a remake of the original demo!
