Check list [0]


To help me keep focused on the necessities and to help you possibly understand what's going on. I've written a check list of things that are complete so far in the game!

Character - the main character is randomized each time a volunteer dies from a selection of: skin x4; hair x9; beards x12; eyes x10.

Character Stats - the volunteer has three main stats. Health being the most important. Items can add or subtract health from the volunteer. If the volunteer's health reaches below 1, he will die. Attack and defence are the other stats. Attack will determine how much damage is hit on the enemies after each word is typed correctly. Defence will protect the volunteers health from being damaged but can be destroyed.

Armoury - the players armoury can hold up to 990 armor sets and 990 weapons. The room itself shows 8 of each and can be cycled through with the arrows on screen or LEFT and RIGHT keys. Items in this room can be equipped with the left mouse button or scrapped with the right button for gold and resources.

Weapons - there are 25 main weapons at the moment. Each weapon has a random name that suits the weapon and some have a collection of different skins to go with. Weapons are gained via loot chests or through the shop. Only weapons available at the moment are iron and wood.

Armor - currently 8 armor sets. Each with a random name and stats to match. Armor is also gained via loot chests or through the shop.

Loot Chests - currently 11 loot box sprites that do not make a difference of the object inside. The item gained upon opening said loot box is currently 50% of a weapon and 50% of an armor set. This will change once items and unlockables have been added. Loot boxes are gained via defeating bosses in the main game room (typing).

Typing Game - there are around 4000 random words for each category (2 letters, 3 letters, etc). The game will start you with a low letter count and progressively get more difficult. The player will be rewarded with more gold from harder and longer words. The screen will show what word to type, the player must then type it in order without making mistakes. A mistake will lose one health on the volunteer. If the volunteers health goes below 1, the volunteer dies and progress in this run will be lost. All rewards from the run however are kept. This includes gold and loot chests.

Monsters - there are 3 monster sprites, each with an idle, attacking, hit and dead frame. These are currently randomized at a 33% chance each. Monsters when defeated will drop gold to be spent in the shop.

Bosses - boss monsters have a higher stat base and longer words to type. Bosses once defeated will drop a loot chest.

Shop - the shop has 6 slots that can be filled every time the volunteer dies. Each item costs double the price it would normally.

Typing all this has helped me understand what I need to work and improve on. I'll post another check list at some point in the future!
