a particle of an update!

Thought I'd give you a small update to let you guys know the project hasn't died!

Granted, not much has been added since the last update but the project is on the back of my mind and lately I have felt like getting back into game making.

So what's new?

I've added a sort of 'quake' instance. The cave will shake and stone particles from above will begin to fall. Your screen will shake and random stone piles will drop and form around you. These piles at the moment are in different stone variants along with a chance of gold and copper ores.

From the screenshot above you may be able to see the caves are now a little darker. The cave also gets slightly darker once a quake is occuring.

The shading around the player has been changed from 'boxy' (8x8 shadow tiles) to some sort of 'diamond' shape.

I've added two new stone types and mixed the colours so they blend nicely with the default stone and dirt blocks.

Random stone and dirt particles will drop from the ceiling, along with random water droplets.

I changed the colour scheme of the HUD to a lighter stone like colour.

Slimes have been removed since they were just annoying me. Will be re-added at a later date.

Began adding building blocks that are squared shaped. These can be built from holding the item in your inventory and placed in the surrounding area. This also shows a sort of grid system that can be seen in the screenshot below.

I will try to post more dev blogs and try keep focused! I'm still amazed at all the views, comments and likes. Thank you so much <3

Take care everyone!

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!
