Chrome (or Chromium for Linuxers, or the standard browser on your phone / tablet) is a buggy, incomplete piece of crap. I don’t know how they get away with foisting this junk on people, but until further notice I must reccommend using FIREFOX with this game.
It WILL work on Chrome, but you’ll miss out on a lot of the fun images. Because Chrome is so badly written, that it gets all confused when you use an alert box, and alert boxes are the only way I can easily add pacing to the game. Do look out for a Chrome version at some point though.
Actually, I think what I’ll do if I do still want to do browser games after this, is create a Flash version or similar, that’s independent of whatever shitty browser you poor sods are stuck with. I just can’t be doing with HTML / JavaScript, because I’m not some kind of freaky masochist and because I’m sick to death of getting something “just right” only to find that some big-shot corporation has deliberately broken the browser they’re forcing down everyone’s throat because they don’t care about small developers.
This is a case in point. This bug (and it is a bug) has been there for TEN YEARS:

The “solutions” either don’t work (the command-line option), or create a lot of work and a very real security risk where there was none (“just run a web server on your desktop - what could go wrong?”). These people have clearly got something wrong with them, and Google is going to go DOWN someday as a result. Nobody is untouchable - the recent Facebook unpleasantness proves that much.
Until then, consider me massively discouraged.
