Current Plans For the Remdemo Build 4 (Spoilers)


Grant Mod V2: the Remdemo Build 4 will focus on helping new players into the game, even ones who aren't too familiar with RPG Maker 2003 games.

Here is a list of some of the plans for the Remdemo Build 4. If you have any feedback, feel free to comment!

  • A new optional tutorial (or two) to explain the basic mechanics of Grant Mod V2. This tutorial will be available right before the basement battle sequence, and will be accessible by using one of the beds.

    • This tutorial will not include an explanation of the [Riot] meter. Instead, the basement battle sequence will maybe be changed slightly to better explain exactly how the [Riot] meter works.

    • I will release a devlog of the prototype I made for this to show what the tutorial would look like.

  • Probably adding some sort of manual to the game folder for reviewing individual game mechanics.

    • Would include details on the stats and skills of each party members, as well as game mechanics, and would also be updated when new chapters are added to include any new skills or features.

  • Since this was originally supposed to be a patch for Build 3 called Build 3.1, Build 4 will address the issues with it.

  • Tweak some things.

    • Make the CEO's battle more interesting by making it more dynamic and giving her more varied attacks.

    • Probably make the Grantonimore battle easier. It's not super difficult as it is long, and apparently it's easier to die near the end than I initially thought, which I imagine would be really annoying. I might also redo his moveset.

    • Maybe add more gameplay time to the chapter? Not really sure where I'd put it. Maybe the main party would spend more time in the Safe House before becoming overcome with the temptation to try out the TV? This is also where the second tutorial would happen via one of the beds if I end up adding it. I also plan on redoing some of the dialogue in general.

    • Maybe I'll add a couple of new facial expressions for Remder, Amoeba, and Fire Thug? I have some ideas but am currently unsure if they will actually be used until later chapters.

    • Add some new music to fill the void of deafening silence that reminds you that you're wasting your life playing shitty RPG Maker games that is present at some points in the game.

    • I'm considering slightly altering the stats of the main party. I made backups of them just in case I accidentally mess things up, so if this turns out to be a bad idea I'll just revert them.

Here's a small sample of the new spritework I've made for Build 4 of The Remdemo. I'm actually starting to run out of space for the town tileset lol, probably should've made 2 separate ones for outside and inside the houses.

Just realized while looking at my earlier post that the first letters of the main party's names spell out RAD so I'll probably call them "Team RAD" lol.

Also just for context I decided to rename Fire Thug to Doug.

The CEO battle and stat reworks are going great so far, I'm also considering doing a major rewrite of Chapter 1, but I'll probably save that for a Build 5 since Build 4 has already taken pretty long.

These are the new party members for Grant Mod V2: Remdar's Conquest. You can tell that I'm very extremely serious and not joking at all because April Fools' was 3 days ago and therefore it is illegal for me to be kidding about something.
