August 2024 Dev-Log


5 days after the last post [bad timing] and we're in a new month! Lets see what I got up to last month, and what's gonna happen this month

Firstly, a game rebrand! As the old name didn’t suit the actual game, so introducing.. DELTARUNE: Evacuation!! This project is exactly the same but with a different name to suit it better. That’s it for firstly.

Now, what happened last month. I did accomplish the room-making part that is still happening, as now there are 14 rooms with more to come! I did NOT accomplish starting on battles, as I have not found the right time to implement one. [The battles will probably not be encounters, but boss-type monsters.] But I have found out how to implement NPCs, and will be adding more in August.

Before going on, I will clarify one thing that may make people disappointed, as I have disappointed myself as saying there will not be dialogue choices added, meaning no choices, no different paths. In battles there will have to be "semi-branching paths" where the battle ends in a different way no matter what, but that doesn't mean that I have a full capability to go right to making dialogue choices, as it is a long coding experience.

Now for August goals. Now I can't expect much from August to June, as I will be going to school in those time-frames, meaning I will be gone for a span of the day, but I still have my eyes set on:
1. Continuing the story.
2. Learning more about code to make the game better.
3. Make significant progress toward an early-access build. That's a priority so you guys can see what the game will be mainly about.
