The mini detective game now supports evidence, such as any decent detective game should :)
Each piece of evidence has a card of its own on the clues blackboard. Once discovered, it will appear there. The only evidence known in the start is the murder scene itself.
Evidence contains many traces that may be identified, such as fingerprints, fibers, hair, but also hand writing on a letter or a note, a signature or even an address. When a trace is identified it may be later used as a sample to compare with other traces (ie discovering a will usually has both the signature and the identity of the willmaker, so after finding it, you will be able to match any unknown signature on any document to theirs).
In addition to that, there is now a separate investigative action on personal info cards, (next to investigate, follow and call), “samples” which will collect up to three more sample types for that person (not yet collected). This is your way of getting fingerprints etc to match with unknown traces.
To finally match an unknown forensic trace on evidence, right click on that specific trace on the evidence card. A popup menu with the entire list of samples you already acquired appears. The verification for now takes between 10-15 game time minutes, so don’t just cross compare everything with everything, follow the clues!
Have fun!
p.s. there is a minor bug due to right clicking on forensic traces, to zoom in on an evidence card you have to left click on its title (as opposed to anywhere on its surface).
p.p.s. new evidence is found by investigating people (even dead ones).
