I've been gathering data for a few months now by observing people's playthroughs and analytics. I've noticed a good amount of people got stuck on the first puzzle of the demo and sought to alleviate this issue by making it easier.
So I added the number value of the direction on the angel statue all the player has to do is go clockwise to get the code.
However I realized that people did not really interact with them.
I was trying to understand what made it hard, how could I fix this without making the puzzles in the game too easy?
When I started making this game, I did so with the intention of making a unique survival horror game that anyone could enjoy while staying true to the genre.
So I came up with a solution..
When you first start Relapse the Neverland you will be prompted with choosing options. This includes Puzzle Difficulty Mode. Unlike Classic Difficulty mode, you can always freely change the puzzle difficulty.
Simple Mode acts as a gateway to players who wish to experience the story or need a little bit of help during a puzzle.
What Simple Mode Does:
Anna will give more hints.
Text hints will be highlighted as the picture above showcases.
Some puzzles may have less mechanics or obstacles in your way.
That said I've decided to add a bit more hints to the game in general.
