Hello there you amazing people!
it have been a long time since i have given any information about the development, here is what’s going on:
First of all i have gotten a new job which have taken up all my time and i have used a lot of weeks to get used to the shifts etc.
Second, i have been upgrading my system and backing up the sourcecode of Survive at Home.
Right now as i am writing this, i am going through the code little by little to make it more smooth and more stable.!
Yes there are errors, still working on the fixes :)
Not much “new” have been added to the game as i have had little time for the development.
Allthough, i have been researching new methods of doing many different things ingame and will be focusing the coming days/weeks on the custom home builder, fixing the darn new home(s), try to replace the default player model, expand the many different gamemodes for more gameplay then fully apply a lot of the story into the ‘story mode’ + connect the different parts of the game which have been added but hidden until this point.
Many things still gets replaced and i am continuing to make completely new models to improve the game’s visuals as well as features.
As you can see, still needs improvement but looks a bit better than before, right?
(This is jsut the logo for the game intro but you get my point about visual upgrades for the game)
When it comes to the testing rounds and the future of that:
The last testing round(s1r6) isn’t technically over yet as the last update got delayed.
When i am done with the preparations and fixed the game for the next round(s1r7), i will finish the last round with the first available version of the game, then start the next round with the updated version(improved by the feedback i hopefully get from the s1r6 testers).
This is a “small” friday update for those who have been requesting these again, i will be writing more when i got more to show you guys.
The development is NOT dead and i use all the possible time i have for the game!
New job includes night shifts and late evening shifts so all i can say is that i am sorry my body isn’t made to do both at the same time; i am doing my best and i am so tired when i get to the weekends. I am however getting more and more used to it and as you can see today, i am back at developing at least a tiny bit more again.
As i am on the topic, when it comes to the development speed and progress, by end of this month(july) somewhere, i will be getting a lot more time for the game!
for those of you who are disappointed, sorry i let you down. I know it is hard to wait but it will hopefully be worth your wait and my time spent on this project when i get done.
At last for today:
I am as i said further up in this update, trying to make the game more stable.
When i started today i noticed there were several warnings, notifications and errors while playing(that i haven’t noticed before/new ones?).
So far i have reduced the amount of lag in the intro, made the higher settings ingame actually playable and i am working on removing the HUGE amount of lag in the main home.
Later tonight i will start the stressful and bothersome work of the new custom builder.
Also the next episode of ‘Behind the development’ will be uploaded soon enough!
That’s all for today!
(if there is anything i forgot or anything else, i will come with another update soon(yes, soon and not in months))
Hope there was something in here you found “useful” or at least somewhat interesting.
Let me know if you have any questions, possible requests etc.
A lot of the personal questions you got, please send to my email rather than comment here in the open
Thank you for your time and hope you stand by for more updates and progress info.
Have a lovely weekend!
