First of all… Happy new year!

Today I wanted to share with you some important info on how I’m going to manage the development until launch. I’ll try to go straight to the point
PC and Mobile
I said before that I was going to make the game mobile only, but it was because I didn’t know about a practical way to structure the code and design a game that work great with both inputs (touch vs controller or keyboard) but I learned that Unity has Platform Depending Compilation that makes easy to just compile the parts of the code that you want. For ex: let’s say I have a script called “Player Movement” that have the code for Mobile and PC input and I only want to compile the code to move it with keyboard or controller and omit the touch inputs when exporting to PC, well I can do it by adding the Defines to my code. (This is why is always a good practice to structure your code before you start writing it, its not too fun but it saves you future headaches)
That solves the code structure part, but I’ll be 100% sure of the design part after I test the very first prototype for the game with the new mechanic that I have in mind which brings us to the next topic.
Updates and Test Builds.
For updates I’ll use Game jolt and Patreon. In Game Jolt I’ll be posting the big milestones which means things like the end of pre-production and start of production, when the early access build is available, etc.
In Patreon I’ll be posting updates every time I finish a sprint which can be every 2 to 4 weeks in average depending on the goal for the iteration, also, if you decide to support the project in patreon you will have access to the closed and alpha testings and will participate in polls to provide your feedback on the game. And finally on release date you will receive a free PC copy and free items every month for the Mobile version of the game. if that interest you this is the link to my patreon.
Distribution
As mentioned before I’ll release a paid PC version in Game Jolt (Price to be set later) with all the content of the game and a free to download Mobile version (Only android for now).
What’s next
I have already started to work on the first iteration of the game that is related to the visual identity of the game. Why is this the first iteration rather than building the first prototype for game play as you might expect?, Well, because the main game mechanic I want to test I think works better with 3D assets but I know just the basics for 3D modeling and I can’t hire an artist at the moment so, it represents the biggest uncertainty and therefore risk for me because it will require more of my time contrary to coding a prototype with the main game mechanic that can take me at most 1 week since it’s where I have more experience and I have already a clear idea on how to structure and write the code for it.
That’s everything for now
Thanks for supporting the game for so long, I’ll do my best to deliver you the best experience possible!
