Started development on the 29th August. Currently working on building assets to use in the game before constructing the environments and general storyline.
So far, I have successfully created:
Main menu which shows no. of collectibles acquired (overall, not per level)
A system which allows for a perfect and non-perfect run of the game right from the offset
Collectible coins (unit of currency pending) with UI integration
UI fading after 4 seconds of collecting the most recent coin/batch of coins
‘Level Guide’ system for you to see all of the collectibles you’ve earned in each level. Can be accessed from level entrances, but hope to include them throughout levels or perhaps as a constant item in your inventory allowing you to check level progress whenever you like
Animations for picking up collectibles
Outlines for collectibles which can only be activated by finding a switch within a level
Created a functioning boulder puzzle template which I hope to utilise. Roll boulders to push one specific boulder onto a switch, unlocking a gate (leading to a prize or the next room for example)
I hope to now work on:
A fishing system, allowing you to catch a variety of fish from common, to rare, to none at all with each cast
Enabling the user to activate the level guides from anywhere via a key item in the menu
