Devlog 1 - Soundtrack and Bosses

Hello, Igor here. Today I’m bringing you the first of this #devlog series which hopefully will be interesting for you. I’m gonna talk about a lot of stuff that happened this week so keep reading!

Skills

The #skills have finally been all planned out, or at least their acquirement and upgrade methods. That means that soon I’ll start implementing them. If you want to keep informed, visit Don’t Die’s Trello board.

There’s a ton of skills I’ll have to implement, but since I don’t wanna spoil much of the fun from you guys, I won’t list them all here. Again, if you wanna know which skills I’m adding to the game, visit Don’t Die’s Trello board.

Bosses

Okay, most #bosses have been implemented. There are six bosses in the game as of the time of this writing, and ten more to come. I have actually made the art of seven of them already. You can see all of them (and all enemies) in this image:

AI isn’t the easiest part of the game development, but I still think I can finish all of them this month. We’ll see how it goes.

Soundtrack

This week I made nine out of twenty-nine songs for the #soundtrack. Most are rock battle songs, but there are some interesting songs there. If you want to see all tracks that I’ll add to the game, visit Don’t Die’s Trello board.

You can actually listen to a bit of five songs here on Game Jolt. They’re on the game’s page.

This next week I plan on doing at least half of what’s left to do on the soundtrack. We’ll see how it goes.

Next Week

So, here’s a list of the things I want to do the next week:

  • Ten songs;

  • Finish the art for all bosses and enemies;

  • Make the AI for the Mothership and the Moons;

  • Make a level selector.

That’s all I wanted to tell you in this devlog. I hope you all enjoyed it. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Instagram and on my Facebook page, Multiple Game Styles! Thanks for reading.

Oh well, it was about time that I added a working Controls tab to the game's pause menu.

I'm trying to finish the planets' configurations, but my game ain't making it easy. As soon as I'm done I'll make a post on the game's page! Meanwhile, enjoy this image of Vulram, a moon in the game.
