Devlog 11: Updating the engine

Alpha 3.0 will now have a Spade along with the Hoe. The Spade can be used to dig new limb land, while you can use the Hoe to make room for three limbs instead of just one. I might also make it where this will cause the limbs to grow more slowly, allowing you to use limbs longer since they outgrow you more slowly, but keeping you from using limbs that are much smaller until they've grown for much longer (leading to smaller limbs being more common). Also, since I've been putting more of my time into Pitch Black than Home Grown, alpha 3.0 will probably take longer.

It'll also take longer since I plan on upgrading the game to Godot 4.0, which improves several parts of the game (including lighting, AI, etc.). I'm quite excited about Godot 4.0, not only because of 2D but also because of how much it improves on 3D.

Also, I realize now that I have been pretty much silent on The Box / Six Hours with a Box. I'll probably make a more detailed post within the next few months. But for now, I've paused its development. I have been writing down ideas for the new game, though, and Six Hours with a Box might still release, likely on the same game page as The Box before it releases.
