Been a minute, huh?

Ever since UNDEREVENT 2023 we've been working on a new reboot for Underswap: Thanatos to make it more of an original AU that we on the team would enjoy making. Albeit progress has been a little slow since we've been focusing our time on DUSTTRUST X to deliver the promises we made to you prior to this reboot, but we're not here to talk about Dusttrust today. We're here to tell you the kind of things you can expect to see moving forward for Thanatos!

So, what was that new video about?

If you've looked at Ari's channel recently, you might've spot a new video that was teased for Thanatos! It's reminiscent of one of the Neutral Endings from UNDERTALE, but why?

UNDERSWAP: THANATOS has stopped being a DUST AU. Instead, we are making it a Post Neutral Ending timeline where Napstaton is the ruler of the underground!

If you've been in the loop for a while you'll know that most AWESOME GAMES projects are taking a more serious approach with writing stories. Writing dust AUs aren't exactly... fun most of the time. With this new direction we're going with you can expect us to pour more of our heart and soul into it now that we're having more of an enjoyable time working on the project.

What can we expect in the future?

It's hard to exactly describe what you'll be seeing from us without giving too much away. When DUSTTRUST X is released we'll begin working on Chapter 1 of Thanatos. You'll be able to see what the underground is like under Napstaton's rule after a timeskip through the eyes of both Sans and Papyrus! Isn't it nice that they're finally getting along and well, not trying to kill each other?

And you heard us right, Sans and Papyrus will be the primary protagonists of the game! Chara's returned to the surface and isn't coming back. That's not to say there won't be hard struggles to overcome, though!

I know this was a shorter devlog this time. Again, we're putting a lot of our attention into finishing DUSTTRUST X so we can solely focus on Thanatos. We appreciate your patience and we're very excited to work on the brand new reboot!
