We’re back to a stable build! While everything hasn’t been implemented yet, early game is stable. The player has the ability to choose their cargo and three crewman without issue and take them on an adventure between space stations. Then when they if and when they face a game over screen, the whole thing starts over without hiccups. I’m super chuffed that my early game is cohesive and running properly. The only inconsistency I haven’t been able to overcome with this build is that the RNG can set the destination of your travel to station your leaving from. I’ve tried some things to work around this, but none of the coding I put forth seemed to take in the way I expected. It’s a minor issue now, since it doesn’t inhibit gameplay, it just seems silly.
Also while talking about new build in the future, I hit an epiphany that solved my old table problem. The lines I was getting between images while setting up tables was because I had implemented table{ padding; 5px; } which created a buffer between the cells. Huge facepalm.
Such a shame to have figured it out now after I had done so much other work to solve the problem and then after the fact to kind of make what I had available to me work out.
This is good news as I will be able to format everything aesthetically in the future, but for now I’m going to leave it, it’ll be a whole heap of work to redo all those pages the way I wanted to beforehand. Oh well, that’s for after I get a working Alpha version I can be proud of up and running. Cross your fingers, playable Closed-Alpha should be coming soon.
