Hello everyone!
How are you guys? :) Are you also enjoying your last few hours of Summer Vacation, like me? It’s sad to see this vacation go… But hey! It isn’t the end of the world :) I will continue development on my games of course! So why not forget about the end of the vacation, and talk about what I did for my game this week!
Last week I mentioned that I was working on a dialog editor, together with Florian van Strien. This week I almost completely finished it. I added one of the most challenging (for me so far) things to program. Namely an easy way to include dialog deciscions inside the Dialog Editor.
I changed a whole load of stuff in the textengine, and now It’s really easy to add choices for the player. I can use them a lot easier now, and also a lot more often!
But hey! Why would I tell you this, if my good friend Darren could also explain everything!
So go ahead Darren, and tell us what’s up!
You can also click here to view this gif.
(It’s a big Gif, so it can take a while to load…)
So yeah, this editor gives me a whole lot of freedom in dialog writing, and also makes the writing a lot more efficient!
Here are some pics of the editor itself:
You can click those three boxes to edit their contents! :)
Here you can see the text, inside one of the previous three boxes.
The little I shaped figures represent actions performed by the textbox. Like Shaking, or Fading :)
And here is one more picture :)
So this is pretty much all I have been doing this week. Next week I will work on a lot of dialog, since it is now so easy to create! :)
I also might release this editor after the game is launched, but I’m not sure yet…
Anyway I’m really sorry. I don’t have much else to say, so I hope these pictures were sufficient enough for you! :)
Thank you so much for reading! And all of the support!
And I’ll see you next week!
