Did some more level design this week. Found out that the tutorial tvs broke at some point, while I was improving the interactions system. But if I don't tell anyone that these screens are supposed to show text, nobody is gonna know.. Oh.

A bit more design of the second part of the Depot level, now with lighting. Needs additional jellies..

Made a simple comparison table of the most popular asset stores! I was mainly aiming for 2D pixel art, but it is applicable for other asset types as well. Overall, itch io is probably ahead for me, but it is worth the time to set up other storefronts too.

πŸ₯³ Year recap. Worked on JICE: new meshes, weapons, an NPC robot, dialogues, started level design for level 2. Released a web game and even earned some (small) money from ads. Next year’s goal: 2 web games and.. a bit more money? πŸ˜†

Happy new years!

Happy #WIPWednesday! Are you working on a game? Making some art? Practicing a song? Something else? Tell us in the comments!

Spent some time on making an adaptive UI for my html5 game in gamemaker. Buttons and pictures now resize and shift if the browser size changes.

Did some progress on the next part of the Depot. This area is going to be a bit less spacious than the previous one.

Made a special room for adding stickers to the game board and changing themes. Took inspiration from a similar mechanic in Squeakross - but made it a lot simpler: stickers are stored in a scrollable tray instead of an overlay window.

Ditched baked lighting, trying lumen now. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem like it takes up that much more performance compared to the previous setup - with a few tricks for optimization, at least.
