We’re delighted to share one of Varnurud’s more inhospitable locales with you this week: Flamescar Cavern. “Delighted to show us something inhospitable?” you might ask. Well yes, because the Cavern itself represents a site of both danger and opportunity. A mere glance at its confines makes clear why so few dare to brave its interwoven passages and caves.

And all this is to say nothing of the Salamanders that run amok within it. These slithering predators lurk in nearby pools and streams of lava, scheme in large caverns, and attack whoever enters their domain with extreme prejudice. On the flipside, the creatures’ horns, scales, and eggs are highly valuable, as are the valuables of the victims they had dragged into their lair.

There are other tales concerning Flamescar, too – rumors that relate to the operation of scavenger gangs that capture, then sacrifice their victims inside the caverns, all in service to some unknown God in the form of a flame that is said to consume and cleanse all.

Madness, peril, and opportunity await intrepid explorers at every juncture. Will you, dear vagrus, be brave – or foolish – enough to delve into Flamescar Cavern? Only time will tell. In the meantime, we bid you do as always: stay safe, stay vigilant, and conquer the wasteland!
