I am pleased to announce that work on Episode 4 of Dreamy Rainbow 3D is in progress. The project continues to use the original engine.

A demo version will be available in the first half of February.

I am pleased to announce that work on Episode 4 of Dreamy Rainbow 3D is in progress. The project continues to use the original engine.

A demo version will be available in the first half of February.

For this release, Episode 4 will be integrated with all previous episodes, providing a seamless experience within a single package. Additionally, the game will feature overall quality improvements compared to earlier versions.

Attached are several screenshots and a short video featuring gameplay fragments. Further updates will follow.

Next up

DR 3D Episode 4 – Update The new version will be released this month. The long delay was also caused by personal life changes (starting a family, moving to a new home). Key changes include movement, combat, cutscenes, voice acting and much more. Cheers!

Following up on my previous updates, I am also sharing a video featuring short gameplay clips to show the current progress.

Update on Dreamy Rainbow 3D Episode 4! Episode 4 is coming to the GZDoom engine, just like all the previous episodes and Luna Game 3D!

Each pony has DOZENS of expressive animations. That's why it takes so long to get each one from single concept sprite to finished in-game. (Aseprite's the tool used to get these pixels moving around so nicely.)

Due to technical issues with hardware experienced by many players, I have decided to withdraw this version of Dreamy Rainbow 3D. Don't worry; work is still ongoing. The next update will be released in two weeks (around August 12–13, 2025).

Getting particle systems like this to work was surprisingly tricky. Especially when it came to making it all flip properly when the opposite combatant uses the same attack.
