hi it's me, I thought it'd be appropiate to make a devlog now that it's summertime
last time you heard from us we mentioned the game would be out by summer. Well,
grab your torches and pitchforks because Fuck
the summer deadline was not met. why's that?
i'm slow, sorry.
More time than I'd like to admit went into polishing and bugfixing, and while that means everything was massively improved, progress on the general game was not enough to get a fully playable product. the game will have to be delayed
that's where the bad news end though, while i couldn't progress as much as i hoped to, i was still able to get some pretty big things done
what this means is most fights in the game are now complete (ignoring some missing spritework)

phase 2 was completed pretty recently and I genuinely couldn't be prouder of the final result, i consider it my best work by far. this also means the main sans fight is complete. the only remaining things that still need to be done are cutscenes, overworld, and phase 4 (which is an entirely separate encounter but we still call it that)
it's strange.
for the longest time i had no idea what i was doing or how to manage working on a game of this scale
it's weird to think after so long we're nearing the final stages
i'm not sure how much more time it will take, but the moment i'm sure i can deliver i'll let you guys know
as silly as it sounds dusttrust was part of my life for 5 years so having this much progress is something i struggle to process
i know many of you have also been here for all these years so i understand you may be upset as well
which is why we have something else that could interest you
The Possibility of a Sans vs Papyrus Demo
to make up for the lack of a summer release, we are willing to release a demo sometime soon and let you guys play the Dustswap section of the game early while we finish up the rest of the game.
saying it's a "possibility" as we are allowing you to choose between having it now or experiencing it alongside the full game later when it's done
Think carefully about this, while it may seem like an obvious yes, we believe the game is best experienced in one sitting. there won't be proper payoffs due to the nature of it being a demo
We want you to have a say in this, but do consider waiting for a full release.
