Dutch Carnival

This is a tradition most of all originating from the southern parts of the Netherlands, in the provinces of Noord-Brabant and Limburg and also some parts of Germany.

As you know that according to Christian relgion the last 6 weeks before Easter there is a period you have to fast. In other words eat as little as possible. During carnival we celebrate the last days you can drink and eat and have fun and so on.

The Southern Dutch version of Carnival is also a bit of acting as crazy as possible. A bit like a clown. Not surprising clown dress up are very popular during Carnival.

And that’s why just for the occasion I made this carnival adaption of Marrilona.

It’s not that I really like Carnival, but it was just fun doing this picture :)
