As you may have noticed, I've been working on this game again! I actually hadn't done, like, ANY game dev at all for about two and a half months, and then Juniper (@Timezone-Maniac-Studios ) gave me some shit about not working on FALSE FRIGHTS, which weirdly enough got me motivated to work on the game again. I guess that means you can thank her for resuming the development of this game.

I should probably talk about the video in this post.

Yes, you aren't dreaming, gameplay of FALSE FRIGHTS has finally been publicly shown! There are currently four characters coded in, three of which are active in the video above - those three being: Chica the Killer, Vincent, and Withered Golden Toy Freddy.

Vincent is the simplest of the three. He sits in your office, motionless, excreting a mysterious purple fog that fills the room. This fog is toxic, so you must periodically put on the mask to lower your toxicity level, indicated by how purple your vision has become. If you get too toxic, you die.

Withered Golden Toy Freddy is relatively simple as well. He's your average "pathfind towards the office" enemy, but with a slight twist - watching him on the cameras DRASTICALLY decreases the amount of time until he moves again. He will either travel to your left or right vent, and when he enters one, you must use the corresponding vent button to shock him away. Pretty easy to deal with as long as you pay attention to where he is.

Chica the Killer is definitely the most unique of the whole roster thus far. She resides in Camera 11, and will fade in over time. If she gets to full opacity, you die. You stop her from doing this by closing the cameras while looking at her, which will make her appear in your office, glitching out and turning everything grayscale. She will then say a four-digit code, which when punched into your numpad, will send her back to Cam 11 and reset her progress.

I'm sure there's at least one of you that wants to hear about the tasks (which are now called "clear conditions"), so I'll talk a bit about those now.

There are currently three planned clear conditions, two of which have been coded in already.

The first clear condition is just your basic "survive until x hour" one, which in this game is 3am (Frightening!). The hour length scales with what fright you are on.

The second clear condition is the one seen in the gameplay video, which is collecting balloons on the cameras. I liked the idea of collecting balloons as a clear con, but I didn't like how RNG it felt. That's what the little indicator that appears after collecting a balloon is for. It points towards the next balloon's camera, but it isn't perfectly accurate, so it really only just tells you the general direction you should be looking in. This clear condition also scales with the current fright, meaning you'll have to collect more balloons the further you are into your run.

The third clear condition is still a bit of a work-in-progress, but I've settled on having to throw paper balls at possessed plushies in the office. Sounds silly, I know, but what's a good FNaF fangame without a bit of fun? This clear condition, as well as all future ones I come up with, will also scale with what night you are on.

I think that's about it! Sorry for the insanely long post, there's just a lot of stuff I wanted to put in here and no real way to condense it without it being boring. And again, thank you for 100 followers!! It really means a lot to me.
