My goal for Fight/Train is to stay active as a developer, and to constantly work on the game every day. At the moment, with my situation at home (being home 24/7 taking care of my 96 year old grandma) I have time… so much time. So those who enjoy this game, even in its early stages will benefit.
In the first update to Fight/Train I am more or less getting ready to impliment changes to the combat system. The fight canvas (the menu popup when fighting) is going to be bigger, because eventually those stats are going to get out of hand.
I plan on adding the training experience modifier to the stat window, it’s the stat that determines how much you gain each time you train (i.e - punch + trainingexperience = punch).
I am not going to be adding any more leagues… yet. I said I would but I have changed my mind. v1.1.0 is smply going to carry optimizations that will allow me to impliment future systems.
That said, in this build I am going to be adding in a bunch of new things to the combat system. Remember how I said that in the near future punch/kick are going to be skills that you learn attacks to?, well they won’t be the only skills. Here are the new skills I am implimenting.
Ki/Energy Attacks (I am going to call it Energy Attacks)
Weapon Attack (In the future I would like to impliment a simple 1h, 2h system, but for now just use your imagination).
In v1.1.0 you will be able to train those abilities in the training menu.
Also in v1.1.0 I am going to be adding resistances, you can train up to be resistant to certain attacks (Punch, Kick, Ki and Weapon), the people you fight will also have these resistances.
Toughness - Resists Punches
Thick Skull - Resists Kicks
Energy Resistance (Can’t think of a better name, open to suggestions) - Resists Energy Attacks.
Iron Body - Resists Weapons.
With these two new skills, and four resistances (that can be trained like a skill), this means that I will also need to expand the training window, along with the stat menu.
This is quite a bit update, in v1.2.0 you will see the implimentation of skill based attacks that you can learn (for cash) in the overworld (the place you train). Depending on how fast and how long I can work, this update should be ready either today, tomorrow or Monday (most likely today).
