EDIT: Had to reupload the build due to a small bug I caught just as I released this patch. It should be fine now though.
Heyo!
Wow... 2024 is upon us all! Man time sure does fly...
To celebrate the upcoming new year, I have made one final patch to end off 2023 in a big way. This patch has lots of various changes. I'll start from small, then continue onwards.
Small changes:
+ Lowered the Elemental boss's HP to 1.3 million in Act 2.
+ Added a voice acting credit mentioning the Text-to-speech voice who did Preston in Act 3 Chapter 3.
+ Fixed a couple small grammar problems in Act 2
Medium-Sized change
+ Now most shopkeepers (With the exception of Boss rush's shopkeeper, and Celestia in Act 3 Chapter 5's finale) can offer to fully heal your entire team at the cost of some bits (price may change depending on reception.)
==============================================
And now... the biggest change of them all... The one I spent quite a bit of time on...
So you know that Sci-Twi's entire gimmick was that she can absorb MAT... and there is no limit, allowing her to become the most broken character in the entire game. Which in my opinion would sacrifice the challenge of Act 3, and would discourage you from buying better device weapons if you can just endlessly increase your MAT until you become a magical god.
So I decide to change that...
==============================================
Big changes
+ Sci-twi can no longer use any of her skills unless she is equipped with a device weapon.
+ Now every single device weapon has a limiter. If your MAT goes above the device's limit, it will stay at that limit until you buy a better device weapon to decrease the limit. The chart is as follows:
Basic Device: 100,000 MAT
Device I: 150,000 MAT
Device J: 200,000 MAT
Device K: 250,000 MAT
FInal Device: 300,000 MAT
Near-Godly Device: 400,000 MAT
Godly Device: 550,000 MAT
Device of Debauchery: NO LIMIT
Act 4 Device weapons: 500,000 MAT
Once again, the limit may change, depending on circumstances, but I believe this is the perfect balance.
+ Most of the device's descriptions now have changed to fit with this new style.
+ The new scripts that I added to the game now are added in a couple of credit sequences.
==============================================
And there you have it! I have effectively turned a broken character into a balanced one.
Now... onto the sad news.
This will 99% be the last content-related patch I will make of this game. Any future patches will just be fixing bugs and grammar issues. I sure had a lot of fun making up with cool improvements and ways to make this game much more fun to play. But... all good things have to come to an end.
Thank you all for your support... and I'll see you all on the flipside :)
