Finally New Build!


Intro

A lot of time have passed since the last build and that’s because I was working in a special build for a convention that I was attending in my country and today I’ll showing you the test build that I presented there which has a lot of new stuff that I’ll explain but first just a little recap of Anime World Convention 3 at Expocentro San Pedro Sula

I met so many awesome people and I got a lot of great feedback for the game. Also I realize a lot of improvements that I have to make in order to create a more fun experience with my game. I’ll be working on this changes in this next 2 weeks. Here a show you a little collage of people at the convention

Language support

One of the thing that I had to do was to add this feature because I always upload the build here at game jolt where is almost everything in English and here at my country we speak Spanish so it was necessary

I added new places that are relevant to the story but they are not all. in the future I’ll add more so feel free to explore them

New Characters and NPCs

I worked really hard in implementing this new cast of chars. They are fully developed in in their personalities and intentions but their assets will be improved further in upcoming builds so they look more appealing

What’s next?

I got a lot information from people that tried my game at the convention I noticed a lack of tutorials really bad UI in the actual build and some game design problem that I’ll improve in the next 2 weeks beacuse I’ll be attending to another ocnvention called Akiba at my country so Expect the new build with these improvements in that period of time and also I’ll fix some bugs that I found.

Next up

Today I tweaked a little bit the face (Pic 1) and tested a few animations (gif). I was in an event from work so I couldn't progress that much but I want to have a better prototype build before February ends. See you soon! #shooter #anime

Quick note: - I had an issue with animations but it got solved. (For prototyping) - I just delivered a project for a client. I'm working on a boring but useful app for another client. I won't be able to post frequently (gotta pay the bills). #shooter

We are going from left to right. Why? the answer soon. (Don't you think that peeking ear is cute? ) - Limitations: I have to deliver 2 non-game related projects so I'm doing progress but slowly, I work on parts that help me relieve stress from work.

After doing some play-testing at the office, I concluded the following: - The shooting prototype will feel better with normal shooter movement. - The "Moral system" is engaging but needs more options. - 3rd person view feels good for exploration.

Paper prototype for the Leveling system based on a moral one finished! Unfortunately I can't share it since it is on paper, but tomorrow I'll start working on the digital one for the shooting part and if there is time this week I'll include this one on it

Lack of updates due to: - An event. (Pics) - Signed a contract to develop an app (ends July). 2 more apps in the queue - Improving and porting Void in the Sky (https://gamejolt.com/games/void-in-the-sky/406864) for PC and ??? (requires less time) - Still working on Soul Update

I just finished the shooting part. I'll try upload this prototype and the paper one I did so I can receive feedback early. This are gameplay prototypes which means: It should feel engaging even with placeholders. Aesthetics come after it feels fun.

The prototypes build is ready and I was preparing a video for that post but I got a call today for a meeting tomorrow and I have to prepare some info TT_TT ... I'll post it tomorrow !

Instead of using the 3D model of a future game of mine (Last gif) I'll use this placeholder (more personalized) that shows the feel I'm trying to communicate in the game. I tried VRoid for 1 1/2 hour and I think I can use this model for prototypes

1st Digital prototype... almost finished.. due to "The genius" that crashed into an electricity pole near the office and I had to work on the prototype until 1 am :). Shooting is the only thing missing (Dash, aim + ray cast done). Will share it this week
