FinLab 1.2.1 - Hotfix

Hello all, I was playing this game and found some issues (some of which pretty serious) so I spent a couple hours fixing it. Changelog:

  • Engine update to Unity 6.3 LTS (from Unity 6.2)

  • Red "x" icons on windows are replaced with grey-ish white "+"

  • Windows that had shadows too small are now sized correctly and visible

  • Fixed a major egg bug where the timer wasn't using an absolute day count, and when the month changed the timer would become astronomically large to the point where it never hatches

Enjoy!

And we have ground aquatic animals! In this case I modeled a cute trilobite (which is funny because atm it's the only real animal in the game lol). This could easily extend to crabs or slugs/snails. Their behavior isn't that complex though.

FinLab 1.3.5 (April Fool's Update)

I'm a bit early with the update but wanted it off my plate lol.

- Added the clownfish

The post-game prehistoric pack is done, it still needs to be unlocked without cheats, but I'll get to that. Also might tweak the theme color a bit.

Finished up the update for my aquarium simulation game. Manage many different exotic and occult fish species in your own personal tank. It also includes a breeding and genetic system. Play for free on the web here at GameJolt!

WIP of a space pack (unrelated to the cosmic fish)

I hated the prototype slime, so I gave him some SFX and a new model + texture. I also added a particle trail when the player moves (not shown here)

I had some really hard difficulties figuring out the code for this. There was a lot of issues. I ended up just duct taping code from the first game cutting all 2.5D stuff + adding new stuff. Also this showcases BLJ for good measure lol (sorta a bug)

Played around with a bit polish, it's pretty much done other than maybe some camera tweaking. I improved wall jump a lot (zeroing movement, animations, actually visually sticking to walls), and some particle magic. I want to zoom out the cam a tad.

Went on a really big side quest today with audio, but audio is fine for now. I have decided to give my core mechanic a little experiment. So I've been setting up the systems for it. Portals felt right.
