5 years ago today, I released the first ever version of FNAF Tower Defense here on GameJolt. It is kind of surreal to think it's been that long.
Even though, updates on the game are slow and I'm not as active as I would like to be, people still stick around and support it and for that I would like to thank everyone who has played or helped with the game over these last few years. It sounds cliché, but without any of you the game would've flopped a long time ago.
Historical Versions
Let's get right into the fun stuff! In celebration of the game turning 5 years old, I am releasing most of the older versions of the game! I've made a folder on Google Drive where anyone can download whichever older version of the game they want. Click here to access it. Due to these versions no longer being supported, you will likely experience bugs or performance issues. Scoreboards have also been disabled for obvious reasons.
Versions 1.0 and 1.1 went missing back in 2017/2018 and have yet to be recovered. If anyone still has those on their computer, please contact me at [email protected] or DM on Twitter @SnakeWorksDev.
Update v1.6.1
This isn't exactly related to the anniversary, but it just so happens that update v1.6.1 was finished today, so I figure I'd include it in this devlog. This update contains minor bug fixes, quality of life improvements and most importantly a 4:3 resolution fix. It is still not 100% implemented but it is definitely better than before. Below is the full changelog.
Added the ability to quick upgrade towers with the "Tab" and "Space" key
Fixed UI scaling (4:3 resolution are not yet fully supported, but it is definitely better than before)
Fixed bug where upgrades menu shows wrong tower when quick upgrading
Fixed bug where placing down a flashlight on enemies will sometimes result in the player taking damage
Changed color of text in pause menu
Changed some tower placement zones in Fazbear's Fright
Changed the scale of buttons on the warning screen
Optimized the way money and player health is handled
The Future
At this point in the devlog, I really wish I could say that the game has a bright future and that updates will start coming out left and right, however, that is sadly not the case. I've talked about this briefly in one of my other devlogs but my life has taken priority over my hobbies and I barley have any time to work on my personal projects anymore. This game will continue to receive updates but, who knows when they will come out? I'm sorry for the lack of content, but it is what it is.
To not end this devlog on a sad note, I would once again like to thank everyone who has supported the game in any way! You are my motivation to continue working on FNAF Tower Defense and to make it bigger and better with every update!
