Before I get to the negatives I want to give the game it's flowers with what the game does right: the games music, sound design, monster design, textures and graphics are really good and stand out as the best part of the game for me. Also the arcade minigames are solid as Candy's adventure was really fun as well the other two. The story is really good and I wouldn't even think this was a third game due to how it feels like its own thing then a sequel and I think that's a good thing. Now... the mid and the bad parts of the game. The dreamscape is a really cool idea but really tedious to find the toys and the arcade games without a guide (which I used because I'm not insane). Next is the gameplay and oh my god it is piss easy to boring real quick and it doesn't get harder even on night 5, I will say that the renders for M-RAT and M-CAT are really intimidating but still wished the gameplay reflected that. If you want a good version of this game's gameplay then wait for FNAC sugar rush 3 or play FNAC BUT BETTER!, I'm sure you'll have fun with it. And lastly Vinnie is a pian in the ass if your not fast enough and can be a bother if you don't know what your doing, here's something I learnt about the fight is that based on where he is when attacks you can decide which position he can be by cornering two spots and preparing for him to attack. Also one more thing is that you'll know when he's going to leave based on him standing tall for about 2-3 seconds and moving when he does perfectly so be on your guard. Now the bad parts of the game which happens to be how you get the endings, ultimate and forgotten. Spoiler warring if you don't want to know.
After beating Vinnie for the first time (Yes you have to have a rematch) red text will show up and will yap a bit but something to pay attention to is the phrase "WHEREISHE". After that you can play the extra content if you got the arcade games in the extras, these are important for latter. Now the shit part of the game is that you have to play the WHOLE GAME AGAIN to talk to all the toys and to get information on the hints of unlocking the ultimate ending. When you find the toy like a car or robot they all end the sentence with "If you have something to say, Say it now." Remember the Phrase "WHREISHE"? well you type that and they will tell you a hint on what to do based on who you spoke to (also you have to be in front of them for the dialog to work, trust me on that). Now that you've done that beat night 1 and this will be the only one I will inform you on because it's the longest and I want you to try if you haven't yet. The car will tell you to collect 100 coins and jump on top of the black bar to get out of bounds and keep moving forward. and that's it, you have to play the game through nights 1-5 just to talk to the toys again and get the hints that you need to progress to the ending. I'm sure there's a few things to say but that's it: 1-5, Final, Nights 1-5 again but with talking to toys - and then do the minigames which are dogshit btw - beat them and boom you got it. Now the forgotten ending is easy but is also tedious because guess what... no really type what you think you have to do to get it and see if your right.. if your done typing (if you did lol) then the answer wasssss... BEAT THE WHOLE GAME AGAIN FROM NIGHTS 1-4! to unlock the ending you have to interact with the origami cat in the main gameplay section of the game in each night. You may be asking "but couldn't you kill two birds with one stone by talking to the toys while getting the forgotten ending?" I'm one step ahead of you and did that. However... if you knock out the cat on night 4 and make your way to night 5... you get the ending and are locked out of getting the toy of that night. The worse part of it all... is that the game RESTS YOU AND YOU HAVE TO PLAY NIGHTS 1-5 AGAIN!! my heart sank the moment that it happened and it almost made me stop playing the game because that is dogshit. Remember when I said that the gameplay was boring? well guess what I had to do, play the whole game again just to talk to the toy and get the last ending. This was a fucking nightmare to go through and if want all the endings you have to play the game THREE TIMES TO GET EVERYTHING!
Nights 1-5 - Final - Nights 1-4 - forgotten ending - Nights 1-5 with talking to the toys - do the minigames - do Final again and get your last ending. This is one of the worst ways of getting endings I have ever seen in awhile and is unacceptable in almost every degree. The endings themselves are good it's just the progress of getting to them is the shit part and I hated every moment of it.
And that's it. I'm sorry if it came off as aggressive but I was so annoyed and frustrated that I wanted to vent out what I thought about the game and I thank you if you took the time out of your day to read. There's one last thing I want to bring up is the amount of content in the game, one on hand having a shit ton of things for the player to explore and unlock everything is really cool and can be done right with exaction. But on the other hand that content has to be "good" and needs to be fun to feel like it was worth it to get like extra characters for CN or something you can get for your room things like that. But this game fails to do that and has things to pad out the game for the sake of it rather then the balance of the games run time. I want to use two games for this that I love and are perfect of this talk, Five Night's At Wario's 3 and Five Shows At Wario's. While Shows did get DLC most people are going to play version then just the base so go with me on this.
FNAW3 as two endings: good and bad and the way of getting the endings is done by getting the music box pieces that are in some rooms and the player has to find them. The game has two choices for nights 2-4 until the last night and each room has different paths that the player has to go through so the player can explore the rooms and learn how they work and get the piece if it's not there. A cool part is that if your only after the pieces then you can just go into the room and leave the game and go to the other to see if its there. The best part is that if the road your in doesn't have the piece you can just hit the new game and retry and isn't hard to do. After getting the good ending you have the daytime quest and the custom night plus a max mode called where you can play all the rooms in order on the hardest difficulty. I find the game to have a nice balance imo anyway and is my top 20 of all time.
Shows has a shit ton of content that would rivel tripleA games and has the most amount of variety out of the six part series of FNAW and is one of the best. However just like Candy's 3 the game has so much that it kind a bloats a fair bit but the difference is that the content in Shows is fun and different rather then go through the same thing over and over again. Shows has more content then Candy's 3 and the problem of the game having too much is there and to unlock everything you need to play and beat EVERY GAME BEFORE IT AND DO FOUR'S SPEACAL QUEST LINE. Unless you have played them all before this one it still kind a sucks and isn't really worth it imo unless your committed to it.
Now the main point I'm getting at is that your game should be fun from bigging to end and shouldn't throw things in for the sake of it. It doesn't matter the number of things are in a game when the content itself is a drag to play and will turn players off if the process isn't fun enough to go further.
Alright I've yapped enough, have a good day and enjoy what you love :).
