The past month as been excruciatingly exhausting. My level design class started off okay but turned out for the worst when I noticed that other students were editing my files inside of perforce. One day I lost about 5 hours of work because of that. The only person I could really blame was myself for not creating a local backup for my project on my machine.
Level design proceeded quite nicely, though, after that. My grade is 99.69, and I'm just waiting on my final project to be graded. It's literally worth 35% of the class's grade. The development of Kid Adventures is going smoothly, I've managed to finish the gameplay loop (finally) and have upgraded the AI of some of the NPCs. There were a few issues with the bully NPCs throwing objects and giving visual cues to where they were throwing it at. I ended up getting stuck and asked a close friend of mine Adam to help me understand a lot of logic dealing with Unity's physics. There came a point where we were really struck by something we both considered "stupid". The scale of an object was throwing off the physics of another object due to it being a child of something attached to the player.
I spent some of my free time creating a winning menu in photoshop. It's not perfect but it's something to look at. If you made it this far in the entry thanks for reading! I'm looking forward to finishing this project.
