Icarus 1.3.0.0 and source code released

This is the changelog for the version released last week:

  • Gameplay: Added solar collectors which increase mining rate depending on solar intensity.

  • Bugfix: Planets can no longer have negative population.

  • Gameplay: Increased ship speed

  • Gameplay: Changed habitable zone growth rate

  • Bugfix: Deuterium cost for fusion inhibitors is now set correctly.

The source is now available, you can download it on the main game page. It is released under http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode. If you wish to use the included music you must credit Kevin Macleod as detailed on http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/faq.html.

As the game was built in such a short time the code isn’t particularly well written or formatted so it may be difficult to understand. I intend to create some short guides on how to do some of the simpler tasks such as adding new ships / buildings changing the makeup of the solar system and changing resources. If you need any help with the source code please feel free to message me and I’ll see what I can do.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.
